Great place to stay with excellent touring. I recommend the Lake Eyre flights, guided walks, sunset tour, and 4wd tours. The three guides we had, Mick, Andrew, and Jimmy were excellent.

This place has always been a favourite but this last visit has seen the place slip in standards a bit. The dinner venue was crowded loud and food was very average. This place has always had great food so I hope it was only just a one off failure. The lovely green grass and wallabies have gone from the front entrance adding a lovely softness to the environment .

Great location, incredible natural beauty but disappointed with facilities... Paid $245 per night expecting resort quality room and services. Room was not ready when we arrived just after 2pm. Told to wait 30 minutes. Room finally prepared 1.5 hours later. No room service provided to replenish basics when you stay longer then 24 hours. Facilities need attention - shower head broken, only 2 cups and 2 glasses in room. Needs microwave and additional self catering facilities in rooms especially as no midday catering in restaurant. Service in restaurant was slow. The staff were friendly and polite at all times but overworked - This "resort" urgently needs to hire more staff to service patrons if they want repeat visits.

Considering the remoteness of the location - they do a good job. Friendly staff, rooms a bit dated but the pool is great on a hot day, and it does get hot. Wilpena Pound is an incredible location.

Awesome service at the resort. We decided to go here for our wedding anniversary and spend some time in nature.
We did a half day 4wd trip and it was so worthwhile to take in the sights. Our guide Mick was very knowledgeable sharing some hidden gems including fossils and landmarks that if we had been on our own we wouldn't have seen.
We topped off our trip with a 20 minute flight over top of Wilpena Pound. It was seeing it from the air that bought it home how precious (and unforgiving) this country is. Such beauty and awe in that flight. It is a must if you are out there so you can truly appreciate a different perspective.

Large room but it has seen better days. Close to walking tracks but no views. Food options are nothing special and a bit expensive. Probably would stay somewhere else if we visited again.

Staff very pleasant. Liam at restaurant exceptional. Hamburger was very good. Contrary to previous bad reviews. We had a great time. Very hot whilst we were there.

It's been 30 years since I was here last, so things have definitely changed.
But the views haven't.
Stayed in the Brachina room, clean nice and close to the restaurant.
Staff friendly, and good information shop.
Walks and the views were amazing.
Will come back with the kids next time and stay in the campground.

We stayed in a safari tent. Lovely views. About an 8 minute walk to the pool and restaurant. Cleaniness was ok but not great. Food menu was a little sparse. Only one small menu between the restaurant and bar. Lack of enthusiasm amongst staff. Still, lovely area and we had a nice time.

The Flinders ranges were amazing and are definitely worth the trip and the Safari tents were mostly good but were let down but silly things. The zip in our first tent broke when we were out so we were moved to a new tent. This tent had a completely broken lamp meaning we only had the 2 reading lights. One of those reading lights was broken so we were left with one lamp until we swapped it with the tent with the broken lamp. The sink was cracked and was "fixed" with some sort of glue/sealant that was a different colour. The floor also wasn't cleaned as the previous guests bare footprints were clearly visible. The walks from the site are brilliant and all of the staff, bar one guy in the shop, were absolutely fantastic and really tried their best to make our experience memorable.

Good spot, pretty much the only accommodation option you will get in the area. We used the campground which is more towards a national park campground style than a holiday park. But we prefer it that way anyway. Lots of nature and wildlife around. The toilets could be a little bit better kept though.

Call it a campground. Note, let's not call this a caravan park. It is a campground with bonus amenities and for that it was awesome. We did visit in the off season over new year so it was not too busy. It made "camping" in the outback bearable for those who have become used to the city life.

We stayed in the caravan park where there were not enough amenities for the number of people. Too far from campsites & cleaning was non-existent! The walks were great. Sign-posted with small poles. The cafe and shop were well stocked and priced. Reception was very good and visitor information most helpful.

Pleasant stay with a cool pool and tasty meals. Aboriginal tour guide Jimmy was very informative. Room isnt elaborate but has the basics and the bed was comfortable. Trees and wildlife emus rabbits and kangaroos are abundant. Many interesting walks around the resort.

Lovely, friendly staff. Spectacular location. Breakfast was delicious.
Unfortunately very understaffed, staff not familiar with the area/tours/attractions and services. Room was not suitable for a young family. Old and in need of updating. Extremely dusty carpet and bad for allergies. Cramped and very over priced.

Great experiences at the resort. It would have been 5 stars although the shower/toilet facilities need a little work.

Amazing place to camp. Helpful staff and clean camping sites. Lot of wildlife around. Few walks and tracks around the resort. Has a small
Shop with almost everything required in the outback. Definitely recommend.

The stunning scenery, the vivid blue skies, the crystal-clear fresh air and the myriad of stars at night only serve to complement this outstanding resort. The rooms are large, clean and very comfortable, as well as being quiet and peaceful. The breakfast is amazing, with every taste catered for. The staff are so good and nothing is too much trouble. I particularly enjoyed the "Welcome to Country" ceremony that one of the Aboriginal Elders conducted each evening before dinner, allowing us to gain some insight into the culture and traditions of our first Australians.

We stayed in one of the Ikara Safari Camp tents and had a fantastic time. Even though the weather was very cold, the tent was warm and comfortable. The resort bar and restaurant were also warm with friendly and helpful staff and good food. The welcome to country was especially appreciated and hopefully helped some of the guests understand Australia's debt to the traditional custodians of our land. I appreciated the reception staff sorting out a small problem with our bill and greatly appreciated them posting me my hat which I left in the tent. Over and above what is required- that' s what makes good service!!

The 'glamping tents' were great! Only problem was when the air conditioner motor froze over and stopped workimg on the coldest night!Take sleeping bags just in case!
The restaurant food was great and the staff were overworked but incredibly pleasant and helpful!
I have no hesitation in recommending the resort!
Oh!and fantastic hiking trails at your doorstep or not far away!

Nice cosy cabins although the bathrooms could do with a bit of an update and some sort of heating in the winter. The resort itself is well located but I suggest bringing snacks and food if you are looking to save some money, the restaurant is lovely but expensive.

We stayed in one of the Ikara safari tents. The bed was very comfortable and warm. Which was good since it got to minus 2 overnight! The split system aircon was great at keeping the place warm. Each tent has its own fire pit and I'd recommend bringing your own firewood if possible. There is good firewood for sale at the store but it's a bit pricey. Breakfast and dinner at the restaurant was good (didn't have lunch there so can't comment) and again a little pricey but not too bad considering it's remote location. My favourite part was definitely the emus and kangaroos that wandered through in the mornings and evenings.

Location was amazing, the food was fine but it's not worth purchasing the two-course meal with the room unless you always order the most expensive items. Rooms were fairly dated.

Service was fantastic, could not fault the staff one bit. Very helpful and attentive at all times. We stayed in a safari tent. Tent was very clean new and fresh. Relaxing location with pleanty of local wildlife. Information centre was great, staff very knowledgeable there also. We had a problem with our tent on the first night, local "bushmice" decided to enter the tent and have a field day running all over, however reception where fantastic offered us another tent and free drink vouchers eventhough it was not their fault. Overall would definitely reccomend, restaurant and bar was social and lively.

Great stay in the Ikara Safari tent - secluded and private - make sure you check the trails before planning your trip as the most challenging / rewarding trips are usually closed in hot conditions - The restaurant has a good selection of food but is a bit dearer $ wise. Breakfasts were buffet style and great to start the mornings.

Chef cant cook red meat in restaurant-ordered rare roo&got well done then ordered blue scotch fillet&got medium¬hing done when mentioned problem. Snitzel was thick&moist. We were camping. Facilities ok but dirty. Camping areas very sheltered for tents. Campers are able to use the resort pool however it was covered in mosquitoes when we were there. Lots of wildlife in the area.

Great location, but amenities were poor. During our stay it was quite wet and many paths were flooded and even the toilets at one point. Amenities were poorly maintained and cleaned. Sites did not have concrete slabs and many flood during rain. But the staff in the office and shop were friendly and helpful. The shop is well stocked but at a price.

A great camping place catering for caravans and tents, powered and unpowered. Great location with access to a general store and eating facilities (part of the resort). The hikes and walks are superb with most going inside the Wilpena Pound. Other attractions can be accessed by car within a day's drive.

Excellent acommodation considering you are in the middle of nowhere, although getting a little old and in need of some refurbishment. Excellent attractions (scenic flights, 4WD tour of unbelievably interesting Flinders Ranges nat'l park, walks, swimming pool...). A little overpriced (particularly their shop) but overall good. Great service and very friendly staff.
