Inside the casino was buzzing with activity on a Saturday night. Heaps of people and activity created a great ambience. The sports bar is really good with huge screens with just about every sport playing. Drinks were quick considering the amount of people. Good spot to meet people and have a quick slap.

Hotel itself feels lavish and is very centrally located. However for the price point I think the service could be improved. The facilities were also under renovation at the time of our visit and poorly communicated to guests.

The star gold coast is very nice. It looks elegant. Drinks are a little expensive, but that's to he expected. I visit there a lot and I always enjoy my time there.

The absolute best in accommodation. The location is perfect not to far to walk to the beach, shops and restaurants. There is an awesome pool are and gym really good with a sauna! The rooms are spacious beautiful comfy beds and pillows. It does not matter which view you get the hinterland looks beautiful as does the ocean view. We stay there very often and have always enjoyed talking with staff, dining in the local restaurants and just relaxing. It's a great place to stay 10-10.

Sports bar is amazing with a huge main screen and countless smaller screens all over. Even when it was completely packed (England World Cup game), there was no chance of missing anything. Drinks were a bit pricey at about $7 for a schooner of mid, and the bar was three people deep due to the crowds there for the event. Would definitely go again though.

We had a champagne lunch to celebrate a friends birthday. Amazing - exceeded our expectations. Food was fresh and delicious, the champagne was free flowing and the service was excellent. We were looked after by lovely super friendly waitresses, we had the best afternoon and such value for money. The Garden Restaurant is the perfect place for an afternoon out.

Was great stay there after so many years. Reception were very friendly and helpful. Would highly recommend. Parking is also free which is a added. There was boom gates there before that was a real nuisance. The club sand which at the 24hr cafe is AMAZING!!!!

Excellent ambience and very well maintained. The casino is really nice and well laid out. There were ample options for slots, though I would've preferred $10 min bet tables for blackjack instead of $25.

Very high class hotel, stayed here a couple of times and really enjoyed the stay. Why it didn't make it to a five star rating was because of the change in customer service at (former) Spinners. It used to have waitresses come to our table and take our order, then when we finish the meal we would pass through a counter to pay at the exit. Now it has changed to a much cheaper service, where it felt like being at a food court. We had to line up, single file that led the queue straight out the entrance (close to blocking the casino entrance I must add) just to make an order. We will then pay upfront and receive a buzzer. The food still gets served to the table (thank goodness) but kind of defeats the purpose of the buzzer...

Overall the quality and service of the rooms were good, just not the change in service for Spinners!

Didn't gamble or stay over ... Just went for a show. Location is conveniently situated for public transport. Helpful security personnel. Cocktails and beers priced well when compared to some bars and restaurants. Bars are laid out OK for seating and service areas, but some couches could do with cleaning. Food from food court was similarly priced well as opposed to some takeaway or food court places in nearby large shopping malls. Toilets I used were clean.

Great facilities, attentive well presented staff and awesome selection of food and drinks with multiple bars to choose from....but $20 to access the roof top bar? No thanks...however as we mumbled about the entry price the bar staff willingly offered the 4 of us access for a 'sly 50 his way' which I found most unprofessional, benefiting his pocket to access upstairs? No thanks! We left. Maybe back next time but will avoid the rooftop and enjoy our drinks and entertainment on the lower levels. Cheers

Level 19 at the restaurant and bar amazing!! You can watch 15 Chefs cook your food THE BEST steak I have ever eaten, melt in your mouth. Over the top service which makes you feel special. I want to go back there.

Awesome experience. Although it’s not a big site compare to most casino over the world however it is better than most I’ve ever been (Vegas, Macau and California) Fantastic venue & Location!! Every staff was friendly and deliver excellent customer service. The hotel room was clean and comfortable. Food was delicious. The worst part of my stay was having to be leave this paradise. I can’t fault this place and the service one bit! Highly recommend!!!

I had drinks with a group of friends at the garden bar, which is a nice setting, good atmosphere. The drinks are pretty standard price for a bar. I had some nachos from the food court and they were quite decently priced, if you're going there I recommend getting some food from the food court.

Such a nice place. There are a few inviting bars and great restaurants. You will see / meet a variety of people.
There are TWO things I complain about every time I'm there.
First: they have no dress code in place... I don't have to explain further the outcome of this.
Second: there is not enough staff behind the bars. Therefore you are lining up forever.
Other than that I really like it there. ☺

The executive rooms are definitely worth it in my opinion. Nice rooms with a 2 your canape and drinks package and buffet breakfast. Excellent service from everyone - Sue in the Executive lounge was delightful

Stayed for one night and it was really good. Lots of choices in the casino from food to gaming. Drinks are a bit expensive but that's to be expected. The room was clean and comfortable. Nice views out to the mountains.

Love this place, even more since a recent makeover. It now feels like a high end and stylish place to bet, drink, dine and relax. Loads of parking available, great choice of bars and eateries.
The new rooftop bar with amazing views over the Gold Coast is definitely a place to be seen.
Only letdown for me was the all-you-can-eat evening buffet - the choice and quality compared to recent similar experiences was not upto par at all.

The food at the Food Quarter isn't appetising.Ive tried different meals there hoping it would improve but I was disappointed. Tonight I had the roast pork dinner again and the meat was over cooked and dry and the meal itself was very small on a big plate. I also had a$1 dinner roll but it was so small and the butter which is always placed on the hot bread plate was completely melted again. Many diners seated near me were also complaining as well.
I must say I've been going to the casino for over 20 years and I prefer the old eating place Bite as the menu was delicious and everything was cooked perfectly.
I wish it was still there.

Love coming here for a night out or dinner. So vibrant with plenty of bars and different areas to choose from. The new Garden area is beautiful, the last time I went there was on a Sunday and there were families there having food and drinks while the kids played.

The gambling tables are always crowded and it’s a great environment even if gambling isn’t your thing just to walk around and take in the atmosphere.

Italian restaurant in the casino had a pretty extensive menu with reasonable prices. Service was great with the waiters definitely going above and beyond to ensure a memorable night. The renovations definitely make all the difference in feeling liking a premier venue once again

Beautiful and clean hotel with modern rooms where you really feel that you are on holiday. We enjoyed the buffet breakfast every morning where the food is great and varied. The pool area is nice and clean as well.

Great location. .great variety of restaurants. .being updated in areas. The accommodation has been tastefully decorated..The location of international brand name shops are just across the road,and more restaurant choices. The tram.is just a short walk out the front that will take you un a loop around Surfers Paradise. .

Good buffet but the hotel is a bit dated however it is getting a massive makeover so can't wait for that. Inside the casino there is a new food, bar and games section. For the new food section the menu looks like they have taken 1 good dish from many countries and put it into 1 menu. Which is good when you go there often and want to try something new all the time. Not sure if they rotate it or change it up from time to time. The bar was very popular and has more seating than the old one. The new game section has better and more comfortable seats and nicer machines.

My wife and I stayed Saturday night at the Star casino and hotel. We were in the executive rooms which come with complimentary breakfast as well as giving access to the executive lounge on the lobby level. There is also a happy hour from 5 to 7 pm for adults in the lounge so we went along and were spoilt with cold champagne and tasty nibbles - especially lovely scallops on a pea sauce. Two of the staff in attendance deserve a special mention -Sue and Graeme as they were super attentive and welcoming. Very enjoyable activity before we attended our function.

Food Fantasy for the buffet was a great suggestion from my wife. We were pleasantly greeted sat with a window seat as we requested. Food was good quality ( think maple smoked streaky bacon), the two toasters were labeled with their light or dark settings. House made smoothies in little jars readily available. They have an excellent coffee machine as well as barista made. Lots of staff even though a public holiday meant plates were cleared from table which is what you need at a buffet. Definitely had my recommendation. I never give 5 star ratings but i couldn't find any faults. At $100 for our family of 4 (the kids came at half price one free) excellent value even with holiday surcharge, normally around $80.

The hotel is beautiful. Pool area and bar is amazing to sit and have a few drinks and relax. Staff are very friendly and helpful would definitely recommend coming back here. Lots of different restaurants to choose from which ads a really nice variety to your stay. It's also a short walk to a lot of other areas on the Gold Coast and there's always parking available.

I am coming less due to poorly paid dividends. Not interested in promotions.
Used to go always on double points days, they have been taken away!! seems 2 b nothing for the small better even though I put through $2 to $3 hundred and come home with zero. Used to win sometimes and b happy to leave and come back another day.🌞. Other patrons saying the smaller clubs are better, I am single, over 50 and feel very safe at the casino but can't afford to come very often now. It used to be my one social activity ....please consider the smaller gambler, they are getting very bitter.

Our stay here at The Star has been so enjoyable & memorable for us. Staff were so welcoming and helpful. The room service is 5 star. The different ranges of restaurants and bars had us spoilt for choice. The pool is amazing, It has such an awesome vibe with staff offering free jugs of water to everyone. Staff are always smiling and genuinely wanting to go out of their way to help, the music is clean and crisp from the new cabanas all around the pool. Best hotel I have stayed at on the Gold Coast. Definitely be back again for another mini getaway! Though we were staying in one of the cheaper rooms. The room was immaculate and the bed is by far the most comfortable bed we have ever slept in.

The restaurants cafes and bars are top notch and the staff are great. If you want an interactive casino experience I wouldn't bother though unless you're happy with gaming rather than actually playing against a dealer. A lot of the roulette type games were on screen. I want to play at a table with a bit of banter and human interaction. I can game at home.

Have really enjoyed my visits to this casino. It is much better than Treasury in Brisbane. They have one of the best value for money seafood buffets that I have been to. Can’t wait for when they finish building the new hotel. I have stayed here multiple times and the rooms, though a bit small are really nice and always have a good time when I visit or stay here.

We stayed at the Star Hotel for 2 days with the kids, spent hours at their pool, and please try their Strawberry Daiquri at the pool bar. Amazing! We ate at the Mei Wei Dumpling restaurant for dinner, and the whole family loved it. Delicious food and very affordable. Every staff member we came into contact with were very friendly and professional.

My wife and I have just enjoyed a wonderful weekend at the Star Gold Coast. Had a fantastic room located on the 15 th floor with ocean views looking towards Burleigh. Great entertainment whilst we were there. There are major building improvements going on at present which will be perfect come the Commonwealth Games. Adequate underground parking on site. Main Reception/Drop off location is undergoing improvement so is difficult to drop guest's off. Overall a fantastic place to stay at Broadbeach.

Wonderful venue some thing for everyone. Safe . Welcoming. Spotless. Good food. Lots of restaurants. Good movies and shows. Really enjoyable.

Got to enjoy a beautiful suite while I was there. Absolutely remarkable place to be anf stay. You really feel special being here! I am so sorry I didn't get a pic but I was to distracted by it all and literally just enjoyed what it is for myself!

Had an amazing overnight stay and the renovating, The Star, hotel. Staff were incredibly friendly. The rooms were clean and tidy. And all the food choices were incredible. Definitely can't wait to come back when the renovations are complete :)

If I had to choose a casino in Queensland to go to I would prefer the Treasury Casino in Brisbane. This one just doesn't seem to offer anything special. Food options are pretty limited.

Rooms are very high tech, with power shades and auto light in the closet. Location is decent, short walk to restaurants. Buffet breakfast is only so-so.

It's nice to have accommodation, food and entertainment all under the one roof. Friendly service, great restaurants, 24 hr source of entertainment. Basic accommodation, basic amenities. It's a shame that the car park is so old, dark and smelly.

Since the rename the casino has been slowly going through a refurbishment, so far it's going well. Some areas are aged, but I'm sure they'll be addressed. Staff are curtious, areas are clean. Good variety of places to eat and have a drink. Gambling tables are laid out well. All in all a good place to visit for a bit of fun.

We went to the Star for my younger sister's awards night. Comfortable seating and a nice ambience. They could make do with more leg room in between the seats though. Looking forward to going there again soon.

Ate at M&G Cafe breakfast was lovely a bit overpriced the staff need to pay more attention to the order. Dinner after Kiyomi tasteless give this a miss. It will be a long time before I come to give you any of my money again.

We love going to the Garden Bar for a drink. The outdoor area is lovely and there is a good vibe. Food a bit overpriced and you don't get much for what you pay for but finishing there for a cocktail is great.

Dined at Kiyomi and had a great night. Our waiter was attentive and catered to our dietary requirements. The food was delicious, the atmosphere was casual and classy.

Could not have asked for a better experience! Stayed here before the renovations, and it doesn't even compare to its current state! Very luxurious, even with renovations still going on. Staff are professional and accommodating, and you cannot beat the location. The new restaurants are amazing as well! Definitely recommend.

I stayed at the Star on a recent holiday and I was highly impressed. The rooms and the new hotel are great, the staff is so lovely and everything is so clean. Would definitely go back and stay there again!

Fun night at the casino. It was quiet enough to get a seat at the tables, but not too busy. Make sure you don't wear rubber thongs. You won't be allowed in after 6pm

Decent casino experience. Went in to play some blackjack, table minimums much higher than the Treasury casino in Brisbane ($25 a hand as opposed to $15) but all tables were active so I guess whatever works is good. Decent atmosphere.

Always something going on there. You can have a drink, watch sport or listen to music. Service is always great. It is easy to get to and prices are pretty much standard but you can get a discount if you join the Star Club.

Went there to see three Mayweather-McGregor fight. Was great, parking was easy, they had former pros there talking about the right before hand and between rounds. It was above what I expected, staff were friendly and the atmosphere was great.

Nice atmosphere at the outdoor bar called "Garden". Was a nice crowd without being overcrowded. Staff were nice.

Good casino. Just walking distance from pacific fair. After 6 pm you are not allowed in wearing casual clothing. Wear something smart/ formals.

Stayed here for two days. While the exterior of the building was disappointing, the interior was beautiful and the rooms were clean and tidy. The location was perfect (near the beach and huge shopping mall nearby) and the service was fair. Only complaint was that no one told us that we had our breakfast covered in our booking. Went to the breakfast place on the second day only to be told that it was free and there missed a day of breakfast

The location in Broadbeach is easy to get to and the hotel has excellent free parking. The staff are all friendly and helpful. While ideas I've had a chance to eat at most of the restaurants and found the wonderful and appropriate to their price point.

We ate at the Italian restaurant for my birthday, the service was very good, thoroughly enjoyed the starter of pizza and pasta for main. I would of liked just a little more sauce, the dessert menu did not really appeal which is extremely unusual for me but did decide on their signature dessert which was yummy!

I went to the Theatre at The Star Gold Coast and was super impressed! I was there for a concert and it was so easy to find my way around and the staff were fantastic. Everything was very well laid out and easy to find. Would definitely go there again!

Had lunch at Food Fantasy-- food was awesome and plenty of it. Staff were marvellous. There was a queue at a opening time but worth the wait.

Review based on a casual day visit and a night concert in the theatre. Both experiencs pleasant. The elevators not really big enough if you have a wheelchair. Staff very helpful and accommodating. The Casino is looking a bit dated but a revamp is in progress . Restaurants busy .Overall OK , Theatre comfortable.

Getting better with every renovation. im enjoying the food in the M&G restaurant especially the trout. great M&G have bought back discount lunch during the week they are on the right track. love this coffee catchup cafe

Always great service and immaculately presented. Fairly central location on the Gold Coast and close to Surfers Paradise. The name change hasn't had any noticeable negative effects.

Have not been here in years and wasn't disappointed , spent a few hours at the garden bar , happy hour and service was good! They make a great Espresso martini, very judgemental when you live in Melbourne. Their cocktail pitchers are also good value and are tasty.
Would be really nice on a warm sunny day and warm night.
Oddly very quiet for such a big space on a Thursday night , but was good not having to battle crowds.
Will be better once they have finished renovating and building the now part of the hotel.

The rooms were clean and comfortable, although the aircon ran a little loud and started and stopped, which sometimes woke me up. We got a surprise large Easter egg, which was a nice touch. Room service was good although on the second night, it looked like they left midway, as the room was only half done, but we didn't mind. Great and convenient location and staff were generally friendly. Will stay again.

Friends birthday. Got one of those recommended favorites from the bar inside the casino, was a wonderful drink. The music was especially good that night, and it was a very enjoyable night in total. Would not recommend casino though, unless you're okay with losing all your hard earned money

Staff friendly. Walking distance to Pacific Fair Shopping centre. A variety of restaurants to choose from for dining. Easy access to bus and tram line. Clean modern amenities. Love this place.

Gone downhill for local Gold Coasters.

Arrived in the Atrium Bar, couldn't sit down as the normal booths were roped off. We were told it would cost $400 to sit down in what used to be a thriving bar... half dead since the last time I went a couple a months earlier. No wonder.

Went to find the little Kiosk to buy cigarettes (disgusting habit, yes, but like a smoke when drinking) and half of the Asian punters the casino are trying to attract will be full time smokers... the Kiosk had been demolished as part of the refurbishment.

The concierge told me a smokes machine was "probably" in the main casino. The woman in the main casino, at the desk said "No", did a little jig of delight and instructed me to go across the Gold Highway to a garage if I wanted to buy cigarettes. Ended up getting a Uber... Don't need a casino of all places to be another nanny state gaff.

The place was far quieter than in previous visits. Food was good as always.

Just stayed overnight for the first night of our honeymoon. The staff were amazing letting me check in early and upgrading our room free of charge. The club suite was awesome, same goes for the complimentary breakfast at food fantasy

Car Parking was terrible, system needs upgrading. Drinks were very expensive. I found the service was great and staff were friendly.

Right in the centre of Broadbeach. Great place to have a bet, grab some drinks/ cocktails and win big. Lovely modern and clean facility.

The dinner was awesome, if I went on a different night I would've enjoyed it more. I'm not too big a fan of seafood. That is all.

For a casino hotel this place was great. Room was very nice with modern amenities and pool was nice despite all the children. Casino area was good, always interesting people watching.

Very outdated with a small gaming floor. We went to grab some dinner but found that the variety was limited compared with somewhere like crown in Melbourne and the buffet was overpriced at over $60 per head. It's under renovation at the moment so maybe next time it'll be better.

Very outdated, the outer balcony far was the only redeeming feature and now it's a construction site. The Bar at the front of casino is a good atmosphere but absolutely woeful layout. Chinese restaurant is Very good, the others are VERY hit-and-miss. Mostly miss. Like: across the highway (south/right of that park) there are MUCH nicer options for a night out.

Very average gambling facilities, nothing unique or exciting... No themes throughout, minimum effort in the look and feel.

Keen to see what it has to offer in a year or 2 but for now the only reason to be there instead of Treasury casino: free parking (temporarily). Oh and I assume fire-sale priced accommodation while it's a construction site.

Great place!! I have been here a number of times and every time it's been a blast. It's very professional and the concierge couldn't be more helpful and knowledgeable about the Hotel and Casino. Every where you go things are in great order i.e. no rips in any chairs, no chipped paint etc. The staff are very professional and there is plenty of parking. It's also quite well set up for the disabled access.

Excellent rooms, great service, great room service menu. Extremely convenient for gaming and entertainment 24hrs a day. Rate the overall experience here the best in Brisbane.

First time I've ever been. I found it rather underwhelming, I think it needs a full renovation on the inside to bring it up to date (this might help lift the atmosphere in the place)
Didn't stay for a sit down meal, however the bar staff were really polite, welcoming and chatty. It was pleasant, just dated and old!

It gets a 3 star from me basically as i am not a gambler. We went there to eat one night which was great, ate a a buffet there i cant remember the name but it was really good, and then headed into the cas just to have a look around. Place itself to walk around well is like any casino really hence 3 star rating. To go there and eat and then have a gamble would be a good night if you are into that sort of thing, there are a few bars and im guessing there is a nightclub of sorts in there but we never went in for that.

Been a customer for over 8 years and been particularly eating at Food Fantasy. It is a buffet style dining experience with high variety of food such as fruit (orange watermelon etc), salads, deserts (ice cream, cakes etc), roast (lamb, ham, potato and pumpkin), and everyday there is a change of the warm food last time we had noodles, fish, rice. Before in the last I recall having spaghetti with meat ball sauce tasting amazing. Part of the payment includes sof drinks for free and water but all alcoholic beverages and coffee is not included in the buffet price so expect payment.

Staff are very friendly and approachable ranging from different cultural backgrounds.

Recommend to check Food Fantasy during lunch time and at dinner seafood is available

Other restaurant in the casino include Spinners, an Italian restaurant called Vivo which is excellent, are the best lasagna there and the deserts are pieces of art.

The gambling section is quite nice, there are heaps of pokies machines available and lots of card games including, Blackjack, Texas poker, Roulette.

J Bar is available in the gambling section to have a drink and food is available near the J bar.

They recently opened a new restaurant called Garden Kitchen with a large open interior that stands out. Will visit Garden on my next visit!!

Great place. Casino is good with good tables. It's kinda small tho nothing like crown in Melbourne. Food is great with a top buffet. If your staying in the hotel the rooms are great pretty good for an old hotel. Pretty cool place to stay as the bars are open all night. The main bar is full of cougars haha

I once bought a pair of suit pants from a shop in Robina and the sales assistant said "I should take my girl out somewhere fancy like the casino". I almost put the pants down and ran out the door but they were for a friends wedding so didn't really have the choice. That said, the casino is nice but I wouldn't necessarily describe it as fancy. The bars seem to attract all sorts and the actual casino seems to get the best of them. But it is a fun night out as long as you leave with a bit of money.

This casino has excellent restaurants in offer. The buffet style restaurant in particular is of a very high quality and be beaten.
The pool area is.also very good and well worth spending time at. Nearby Pacific fair is a short walk and is fantastic for shopping. This location is a great place to stay for holidays and attending work conferences.
The rooms are tight, but clean and modern. The casino area itself is old and outdated. This is no longer a premier destination for gambling, although competition is still limited in Queensland.

Despite some people knocking it - don't gamble (I know it's a casino) and use all other facilities and you'll love it. Spinners restaurant is pricey however take a look at the monthly special which is always great value. Food fantasy buffet although not the best ever is reasonable - Nov '15 update: price hiked from $30 to $35 for lunch without any additional benefit for the buffet so I'm revising my review from 5 to 4 stars, still good value though. Also, the pool is great and they finally got the spa baths however still not a single shower by the pool - very strange! Gym is outdated looking however roomy and has all the equipment you could ever need. Not sure why it's not 24x7, example - Sunday opening hours are 9am - 3pm, not the best if you want to have an early Sunday workout.
