Super authentic medieval castle transformed into a beautiful hotel. Easy check-in, a good a'la carte restaurant, clean and tidy rooms and smiling staff. Located 3 minutes from the Autobahn overlooking the peaceful regional nature.

We stayed two nights here and were amazed by the castle and its surroundings. We had a 3 course meal on the first evening which was delicious and served by very friendly staff. It was a magical three days spent in a beautiful castle. The only down point I could make is that there was no where to dispose of the dog poop bags from our little dog.

We stayed overnight and it was a great experience. Maybe you could do a little more for people with handicaps. Anyway, It was just great

Im Zimmer einer Burg zu nächtigen, das ist etwas Besonderes. Da muss man die Mühsal der langen Wendeltreppe in Kauf nehmen. Unser Zimmer im 2. Stock wirkte schon recht abgewohnt. Das Bad ist sehr klein mit einer winzigen, nicht behindertengerechten Dusche. Die Geräuschkulisse der Autobahn und der Eisenbahn ist auch bei geschlossenem Fenster nicht zu überhören, dafür hat man den schönen Blick auf das Lahntal. Das Frühstück ist umfangreich, im Restaurant im Rittersaal isst man hervorragend, nach vier Tagen sehnt man sich aber nach einer anderen Speisekarte.

Übernachten in einer alten Burg auf dem höchsten Punkt der Umgebung mit super Aussicht lohnt sich sehr. Die Zimmer waren schön, das Personal nett und das Frühstück war auch gut.

Lovely castle and beautiful area. The restaurant was very good but our waiter took away our wine before we could finish it. Other than that it was a wonderful stay.

It's a nice old castle with a Hotel inside and a nice view over Staufenberg.

Sehr gutes Essen! Nettes Personal

Die 4 Sterne des Hotels erkennt man nicht auf den ersten Blick. Der zweite Blick ist dann der richtige. Altertùmliche Zimmer, passend zur Burg. Tolles Personal und ein Restaurant, das keine Wünsche offen lässt. Ideal für 3-4 Tage.

The hotel was overall nice. I was a little disappointed that our room was not in the actual castle, but what looked like an extension that was built on. Everything was of course clean and the staff was very friendly. The breakfast buffet was very good.
A few downsides though: (1) very slow internet - couldn't load any videos. (2) There was a fan that automatically turned on in the bathroom and would run for 10 min or so - very loud at night and just annoying in general that it can't be turned off. (3) The food was not good at all. We paid around 30EUR a person for a special winter buffet that was terrible. I really expected more in that respect.
We will probably not stay here again, but if you are looking to, I would recommend just booking breakfast and eating dinner out.

Great old castle atmosphere. The rooms are very nice and clean, bathrooms are modern. There were homemade Christmas cookies to welcome us at the reception desk, the employees were very nice and accommodating. My brother was on crutches and they made sure to give him a room he could access and put his children in a room nearby. The breakfast had a great variety of foods and was included in the price

Uriges Ambiente wie bei den Rittern. Das Essen war sehr lecker.

Wunderbare Ruhe wie ein Ritter im Himmelbett. Sehr gute Matratzen. Tolles Frühstück. Und historische Burg über der Burg haben uns begeistert. Und Parkmöglichkeiten genügend. Herrliches Ambiente.

Wlan instabil und signal reicht nicht bis ins Zimmer. Abendessen unspektakulär. Frühstück gut.

Wir waren zu unserem 5 jährigen Jubiläum da und haben 3 wunder schöne Tage und Nächte verbracht. Einfach wunderbar schön. Die Auswahl an Speisen die Aussicht und das ganze Personal der Burg super nett freundlich und zuvorkommend. 5 dicke Sterne.

Die Zimmer sind ausreichend groß, sehr sauber und freundlich. Es gibt einen LCD-TV, jedoch kein WLAN (liegt an den dicken Burgmauern). Das Bad ist schon etwas betagt, aber sehr sauber. Das Personal im Hotel als auch im Restaurant ist sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit. Wir hatten ein Arrangement über einen Fremdanbieter gebucht, enthalten war ein 3-Gang-Menü. Für dieses gibt es einen Stern Abzug. Das Restaurant selbst ist wunderschön, im Burgkeller. Das Menü war eher einfach gehalten (Kartoffelsuppe, Hähnchen mit Reis und Karotten, Zimteis mit Zwetschgen) und bot keine Auswahlmöglichkeit bzw. Alternativen. Bei der Suppe fehlten Speck und Croutons, die angekündigt waren. Die Qualität der Speisen war aber sehr gut.
Auch das Frühstück am nächsten Tag war sehr abwechslungsreich. Lediglich der Kuchen und das Brot waren trocken. Die Brötchen aber frisch aufgebacken. Fazit: Wir würden wieder hingehen, aber nicht mit vorgebuchtem Menü.

We've only ever been here for Kaffee+Kuchen and always enjoy the service and atmosphere. There are some great local walks and an excellent nearby hill for sledding in the winter.
