Very amazing view for mountains surrounding Taba,
It's a good to swim and the small fishes beside you

I do not rate this hotel as 5 star, it have a Beautiful view with Nice rooms but a very old TV.
1- Something wrong with the structure you will need to study the place to visit the restaurant. also one elevator for each building and it is too small.
2- Food is great, but I do not think the restaurant is ready for the whole hotel capacity.it is very limited, you will stand in along line to eat. also plates are very hot.
3- Wifi service is not working probably, also the reception area had no air conditioner.
4- The pool is decent , but also if the hotel is crowded you will suffer.

It was crowded of guests with limited facilities only ine restaurant working and few bars

I wouldn’t rate this hotel as 5 stars and here is why ..

Pros and cons:
1-Good hotel facilities with great architecture but the accessibility is really bad. Walking to the restaurant is a hassle, elevators and doors is narrow if you are using a twin stroller, walkways lighting is poor.

2- Food : food taste is good, variety is not bad but if you are not lucky and you arrived in congested days like what happen to me then you will get a horrible experience as the restaurant was design to accommodate half the capacity of the hotel now. It seems the hotel made an extension to get more rooms but the restaurant kept it is original capacity.
You Should AVOID coming to this hotel in seasons unless if you like to stand in a long row to eat some OK food and you are willing to wait for a table for 15 minutes.

3- Rooms are spacious but it need more maintenance and more cleaning. We found ants in the room, the AC wasn’t working fine and the floor and bed sheets wasn’t perfectly cleaned. The room service responded fast and managed to solve these issues but where have you been in the first place?

4- Hotel facilities, location are good. Reception is not air conditioned and Wifi service are not working properly.

Bottom line, good value for money but avoid in seasons.

My biggest problem was the serving of drinks in disposable plastic cups. That was an unpleasant surprise as when its busy it creates a lot if trash in the place which is a scene not fitting a 5 stars resort. I don't even want to think about how they are disposing of all of this plastic, cause if it is not recycled properly it will devastate the fragile environment surrounding the hotel.

I sincerely hope they go back to using reusable cups again. But overall my stay was satisfactory

Staff extra good and food delicious and with plenty of options. We had but to shift thrice the room; first for the allotted one not being cleaned, second for non working ac and noise. As the sea water is supplied without proper purification, you may end pouring blackish dirt upon your head if you don't take initial examination. Wi-Fi available only in the lobby. People neat, compassionate and good but not professional.

They're famous for their wide variety of food everyday from different cuisines. Also a very good location. Very clean place except for the toilet near the main pool which I hope happened by mere accident. However, some of the staff are not so helpful or they appeared to be busy with the so many guests there. Guests there are mostly Jordanians btw. Also the covered pool in the spa area seems to be not properly managed because it doesn't work when there's massage time which of course doesn't make sense.

WiFi in lobby only😑.....no playing tools....we asked them for ball and thay refused to give us

The place is very relaxing so if you are looking for a quiet place to stay, the strand is a perfect choice . Rooms are very nice and got great views ( sea, pool and lake views are the best) also, there is a heated pool, gym and spa. The beach is good for a tan but not for swimming. It's full of rocks even in the "easy access area', so it's quite annoying to swim through the rocks and the water isn't clear as dahab's beaches. Staff are very friendly and helpful . The only not so good thing is the food. Breakfast is the best course they serve. For lunch and dinner it's quiet boring and not that good, the chicken has no flavor (tried different types and all were tasteless), pasta sauces were so watery. Beef was the best option whether it's burger, emansee or picata. The overall stay was nice but there are not much you could do there. Also, the animation team wasn't that good. I watched the same exact show for 3 days and it was very basic.

It's a nice resort with good facilities. One thing which was a disadvantage that it was very crowded specially when it comes to the restaurant part, i mean you really don't want to be their once it's eating hours.

It was a nice place with good food but extremally loud. Beging in the morning with music played next to the pool, animation during the day and disco at night. All of these could be heard in every room in the hotel...

I've been very fortunate to stay at some very nice hotels, and a number of five star hotels. This definitely isn't a five star resort. Although the facilities are good (it is a former Intercontinental Hotel), it is not being maintained well in most respects. It is a three star at best. I understand that Egypt is going through difficult times, but there is no excuse for lies and false claims.

To start with, the name of the place is a lie - it does not have a golf course! They say it is 'under maintenance' but the golf course has not operated for a couple of years at least, there is rubbish and debris all over it, the grass and shrubs are completely dead and it is covered in sand.

I am currently sitting in the lobby swatting away mosquitoes as I write this review (thankfully we are leaving today). I have to get up at 6am and come to the lobby to use the internet because there is no wi-fi in our room. If you try and use the internet later in the day, you can't because it is not able to handle more than 4 or 5 people using it at a time (another lie from The Strand when they claim they have free wi-fi). There are usually about 50 people trying to use the wifi the rest of the day and in the evenings.

The table in front of me still has the residue from last night's drinks on it while the man at reception sits there doing nothing - this is typical of what you find at The Strand. We had to clean the floor of our room ourself with a wet towel because it was so dirty. There are almost no activities and all of the resorts surrounding this one are empty.

The entertainment consists of being blasted at high volume with the same dated commercial dance music all day. At other times, it's more like the Mickey Mouse Club, but they subject the entire resort to it, whether you want it or not. When the 'entertainment' is not on, it has been the same Christmas carols for 6 days straight.

Some of the staff are trying, but many don't really seem to care and some of them are rude when you ask them to serve you. Others clearly have not been trained properly. The pools are very nice and well-kept, but you can't swim in them at this time of year because they are too cold - the sea is ok for swimming temperature-wise all year round. A quality resort would have some heating for the pool to ensure the guests can at least use the pool. There are two snorkels for hire (we were luckily able to secure one of them, so we shared it), but no flippers - remember, this is apparently a 'five star resort' by the Red Sea, which is famous world-wide for diving! The snorkelling nearby is pretty good, there is a pier with some nice coral around it.

We had a package with 'free food and drinks'. The drinks are locally made spirits like 'tequila' (which tastes nothing like tequila) served with 'juice' which is also a fake juice sugar syrup. The omelettes for breakfast are good, but otherwise the breakfasts are basic and some of the selections are simply awful. Lunch and dinner are ok, the selection is a little better, and we enjoyed some of the meals.

Actually I stayed in another hotel in Taba Heights but was allowed to use the pools in Strand Hotel. I liked the atmosphere. The bar and lounge area are very nice with fast WiFi.

Just Wow!! Well maintained and the Hotel is too huge divided into blocks which confused me being my first visit, the sensitivity of the card provided needs to be checked as one needs to spend alot of time to open. The beach is Awesome. Ask for anything it will be there.

the best hotel i've ever been to in my life. the frontdesk are very helpful great food but very few options should have a lot more options for a 5 star hotel and the lake is my best place there, great views, they have free coffee machine for all inclusive users even at dinner and everywhere which is great

Really nice architecture. Room is big with a terrace. Too bad no WiFi in the room and it's quite far from the lobby.

It doesn't worth 5 stars.. The receptionist " Mohamed Said " is rude, but his partner Mohamed Usama is helpful and awesome.
No air conditioning in the lobby and corridors.
The food is good,but the dessert is poor.
The reservation manager made a mistake about my room, my reservation was a Sea view room, but he put me in a garden view room. The next day after some argument , he replaced the room .. The restaurant staff argue with each other in front of the guests..
The room is very good and the air conditioning in the room is excellent. The swimming pools are clean and the beach is very good.

Wonderful hotel and super helpful and polite​ staff. Excellent views, nice spacious rooms and good food. One of my best vacations it was memorable week. Certainly recommended and for sure I'm going back there in the near future.

Very quit place, and good food. Not the cleanest place, i don't think its 5 stars.. More like 4. The room is great, with an excellent view, and the staff is friendly most of the time.

Very nice place. In february it was almost empty but everything was open and working. Lots of dishes in restaurant. I recommend all-inclusive option.

The view is fabulous... The sea water is super clear.. heated pool, indoor pool, salt lake and water activities.

Lovely pools great beach and hotel facilities artificial red sea water pool. Great staff very service oriented. Excellent spa. The animation team rocks. Very much recommended I would definitely come back and hopefully soon.

It was ex intercontinental chain so you can say the infrastructure is good but overall the place can be 3stars level not 5

The Intercontinental would seem to be the newest of the Hotels in Taba Bay. It offers a grand design with clean and fresh facilities, what you would expect from a 5 Star facility. Taba Heights is a self contained resort and it's great that you can walk along the sea front Nd experience all the hotels. My personal preference is the intercontinental, the people, the pools, the rooms and facilities are fantastic. Here with First Choice, would thoroughly recommend.
