hotel is clean, bed is ok,food is ok, service is really good, room is big forsingle person. accessable to many key areas in taipei. night market is a little bit far 10min for mrt for the nerest market. ner taipei 101 and near metro station. resturants: there are plenty of stores shops, bar and resto round.

Decent hotel with a great location. Lots of shopping and restaurants very close. The rooms are space a little awkwardly placed and the bathroom is completely covered in windows, which require blinds if you want privacy. Not the worst thing, but just a little different. The mattress was pretty firm, and the billows were very soft, so not my first choice, but comfortable enough.

Room was great! Very spacious and had an excellent view of Taipei 101. Gym on the top floor was small but well-stocked. Staff was very friendly and helpful. +English-speaking

Solid hotel in a great location. Policies are a little persnickety, but staff are friendly enough about them. Bath tubs are great.

Huge bed, nice view, lots of space. Breakfast has lots of vegetables for vegetarians. Breakfast is good. Go early if you like it crowded. Yes bathroom has a little smell of older plastic, which goes away when we leave the light n fan on.

If bathroom had constant ventilation it would be totally odourless, but now it only has ventilation when the light is on. It Would need central ventilation not individual fans. Easily done if needed.

Love the bathtub with legs

A bit dated, I'm sure it was a very nice hotel when it first opened. Our room which faces the street can see 101 right from the window. Excellent viewing point for New Year's Eve fireworks without needing to jam with the crowd. Very convenient location, just across the street from subway station. Breakfast was quite crowded at times because of tour groups. Good breakfast buffet.

The exterior may look older, but the lobby and rooms are nicely updated and very comfortable. Fantastic bed, spacious room, seconds from the subway entrance. Then there's the pleasant, efficient staff and the spotless clean everywhere. All at a superb value.

We spent several days at the hotel and took the breakfast buffet option at Slate cafe. The reasons we booked a reservation include the good location and reasonable price. The hotel is very convenient to the blue line. The rooms are also quite reasonably sized. The hotel is tired as evidenced by the buckets in the lobby to collect dripping water. The towels were not particularly absorbent or large - even though the showers were good with abundant hot water. The bed cover was small so I ended up fighting with the wife to keep covered.

Near Metro station. Price normal, good service and room condition is good.

Overall not a bad place, but doesn't deserve a 5 star rating. The lobby feels old and drab during the daytime with poor ventilation. At night, the lobby feels more modern but still smells old. The hallways are being redone but the rooms have old carpet and furnishings. The beds and sheets are immaculate but uncomfortable. The bathrooms are also immaculate but an unusual design. The staff are very hard working but do lack a bit of polish. I might sound harsh but I really do like the location and most importantly the price. But, this place is marked as a "5 star" hotel by Google and with that are certain expectations of perfection. Of which that is not met. Would I stay here again? Strongly yes, but if you require the highest levels of perfection...not quite here.

Fair price , convenient to visit Taipei

Would have given 4 stars if not for the two tiny cockroaches I saw on two out of three nights here. Room was large albeit dated; and the retro freestanding bathtub in the bathroom was a nice touch. Service is good, location excellent.

Great location and price!

This may have been a 5 star hotel 20 years ago, but it's kind of dated now compared to modern hotels. However, it's still a great place to stay given the value of the rooms and location! When I stayed here in 2017, rooms were about $68 per night! That's great when you consider how close it is to everything, including subways, restaurants, sights and attractions in Taipei. I highly recommend staying here if you're looking for a good convenient hotel in a good location. The new arena is being built beside it. I suspect prices will go up when that's done, and availability might drop during events there.

Great location! Only 15-20 minutes walk from 101 building. Rooms are not so big, medium breakfast.

- Price, reasonably cheap
- Generally good service
Cons:
- Hotel is old, so some fittings in the room are a bit run down, and needs replacement
- Central aircon, so it's either too hot or too cold, and when someone smokes in the neighbouring rooms (even though it's prohibited), the smell can be transmitted to your room.

Reasonably priced hotel. Large room with comfy bed and bath tub. Around a 15 minute walk to Taipei 101 if you wish to do so.

It's normal accommodation for business trip, but so old building, interior and furnitures, but always look clean and hygenic in the room.
When I stayed this hotel last week I have used fitness center on top fl. One of staff (guy) was really kind and friendly, he introduced something about hotel and facilities that was useful for me.
But one of staff (girl) turned off the music before 10min of closing time at the gym.
Any other staffs are so friendly, housekeepers, receptionist and other staffs at restaurant.
Here is actually fair condition to stay for business trip, but not comfortable to take rest with any facilities

Nice and clean middleclass hotel. Outstanding breakfast with a large variety Of western and eastern food.

Room quality could be improved, walls are pretty thin, enough to know when your neighbor is taking a shower. Location is good, and price is not expensive, just upgrade the room quality and the room's wall insulation and it would be perfect.
