The town of Torrao belongs to the Alcácer do Sal Council and is bathed by the Xarrama river that feeds the Vale de Gaio dam.
This village of one story houses, very white, with dark chimneys, hides a history of pre-historical periods with archaeological evidence of dolmens, such as the Torrao dolmen, the Lapa de Sao Fausto dolmen, church ruins and the Pedra de Anta roman temple.
It also has numerous monuments such as the São João da Ponte Chaple, Sao Francisco Church and Convent, the Calcadinha Romana Bridge, the Viscondes do Torrão Palace, the Nossa Senhora do Bom Sucesso Hermitage, the Bridge Fountain, the Transept of the Misericórdia Church and the Algale Obelisk.

Excelente sítio para recarregar as suas baterias. Espaço bastante tranquilo e com vista prevelegiada.
Colaboradores muito atentos e simpáticos.
Disponibilidade de canoas para dar uma volta no vale, mas aconselho a colocar repelente.

Necessidade de manutenção geral.
Restaurante bastante caro, para a qualidade da oferta.

Vim com a minha família e temos uma criança. Fomos muito bem recebidos e os funcionários foram sempre muito agradáveis. Ao contrário de alguns comentários recomendo o local para família com crianças. Estiveram várias famílias também com crianças aqui hospedadas é nunca reparei algum problema por haver crianças. Espaço muito bonito com linda vista para a barragem é muito espaço para crianças.

Fomos apenas almoçar. O local em si é espectacular: transpira natureza, muito calmo, e bom para relaxar. A esplanada convida a ficar durante horas mesmo depois da refeição. A comida é boa, assim como o serviço. O único reparo mesmo é trazerem apenas 1/2 copo de sumo de laranja com 2 pedras de gelo e cobrarem €3,20!

Ein sehr in die Jahre gekommenes Hotel. Unser Zimmer mit Sicht auf den Parkplatz ließ uns nachts bei Regen erwachen das Wasser tropfte auf unsere Sachen. Im Bad Spinnen und Silberfischchen. Die Aussicht und der Aufenthaltsraum sind ohne Frage sehr schön aber der Rest wie auch das hohe Preisniveau passen gar nicht.

Amazing views! The outside area is a dream, but I won't describe it here since photos are worth a thousand words. Great place to spend a calm weekend away from everything. Staff is very friendly, the dogs are ultra friendly. Rooms are probably not the best feature of the hotel, but they are ok, and spacious. Our room suffered from a lack of accessible wall sockets to charge phones (only a single one), but they provide triple socket adapters. The restaurant is one of the main reasons to come here. It's not cheap, but the food is great. Definitely a great stay.

Lovely, quiet place to relax.
Helpful, competent staff add to the pleasure of staying here.
No noisy rude children, no traffic noise. Just nature's own soundtrack. Highly recommended!!
