A really nice business hotel. Very wide selection of food for breakfast, something for everyone. Don't forget to use the 2 saunas and steam room in the fitness area!

Excellent hotel. Very pleasant staff, great Breakfast buffet and lots of snacks at the bar (I renamed it the "squirrel" bar) only a few metres away from exhibition centre and a 5 minute walk from the city centre.

very nice hotel, the staff are exceptionally attentive and the food and drink is first class. The rooms are clean, tidy and spacious and the breakfast is lovely too.

Came in late at night, checking out the morning after. The room was very cool and quiet with a comfortable bed. Their breakfast was also pretty good.

This time the service was not the same. We come at your hotel since the opening. But at this time/visit the service was very bad. The employees at the hotel were not friendly. And it was not busy at all.

My co-workers and I stayed here for the Essen Spiel 2017 board game convention, and it was probably the best hotel experience I've had in Germany.

Air conditioning not great and no bath, but other than that a fantastic experience. Location is quiet and close to plenty of good restaurants , staff very attentive and speak great English, rooms always very clean. One of the best breakfast selections too. If you're in Essen, you won't go far wrong here. Not cheap, but expect quality.

There was a mix up of where we had reserved, so we didn't get to use the roof top, but the food and drinks were great.

Top Tagungshotel direkt an der Essener Messe mit Spitzenservice, hervorragender Küche und großzügigen Zimmern.

This is a great hotel, interesting (somewhat IKEA-like) decor, modern updated bathroom with a fancy shower and heated towel rack, everything kept immaculately clean. There is a kettle and coffee/tea selection in the room, and a small fridge with minibar drinks, but you can fit something small in there if needed. There is a free bottle of water in it on your arrival. The reason I took a star off is that no one told me the breakfast (ridiculously priced at 24 euro per day, mind you!) was included. I found it on my final bill after 3-night stay, but was told it cannot be taken out because this was a part of the room rate.
For a bunch of shops, grocery stores, restaurants, wonderful cafes, etc. you just have to walk about 10 minutes to Rüttenscheider (or Rü) street. For US travelers - most small shops, cafes, and even pharmacies do not take credit cards, cash only! There is an ATM at a gas station, ~5 min walk from the hotel.

Im Vergleich zu anderen Hotels fand ich das Prozedere um die Ausrichtung einer Tagung mit nur 20 Personen als "etwas" zu umständlich.
Aber es waren sowohl die Tagungsräume, die Hotelzimmer und die Bewirtung im Restaurant/Bar sehr gut; das Personal sehr freundlich.

Bei einem Abendessen 1 Woche später, ausgerichtet durch die IGA-Optic mit ca 40 Personen war das Essen wiederum sehr gut, nur das Ambiente erinnerte mich eher an eine extrem gut eingedeckte Kantiene als an ein gehobenes Restaurant. Es fehlte Hintergrundsmusik, das Licht auf "volle Pulle" und 1 einsame Kerze pro 8-er Tisch machte es wenig gemütlich. Das geht mit ein bischen Einsatz erheblich besser.

it is a nice and safe place to live, just adjacent to Messe ground but quiet expensive considering the deliverables.
