Amazing place to stay and to have dinner. The food and staff were fantastic.

We stayed for 2 nights the room was very clean and roomy. Lovely view of the river out our door. Dined each morning and evening OGM amazing food and all the staff were lovely and friendly. Would stay there next time we are in Nelson.

Locally owned, clean, great location and a very good riverside bar and restaurant. Breakfast was impressive. Slight negative was thin walls on conjoining room meant you could hear a lot but that was mainly due to noise of other guests.

The staff were very friendly, honest and helpful. I left my engagement ring behind and they kept it safe for me and got it back to me really quickly. Thank you :) Nice acceptably presented, modest, fairly modern and clean room although will say website paints a more glamorous image. Restaurant music too loud in the morning for my liking.

Great location, and super friendly staff!

Good central location, with delicious meals in the restaurant and fast service. Hair-dryers were a bit sad and the underfloor heating in our room was hard to control, but otherwise a good spot for work stays.

Booked over the phone, no problems very friendly and interested in our needs. Checked in, Philippa is very nice and professional, told me all about their rooms and services. Good room with all the necessaries.

Went to restaurant last night with friends from Hamilton whom I hadn't seen for 18 years, thought this restaurant would appeal to them another friend came along, we weren't disappointed, the menu was extensive and we were spoiled for choice, I had the duck and it was delicious everyone enjoyed their meal, the staff were courteous and the atmosphere great, the toilet area was real nice, have had a couple of disappointments in the past but would recommend the restaurant to anyone who is looking for somewhere to dine out.

My husband and I had a lovely room overlooking the river were we sat out and had a drink on the tables and chairs. So close to downtown that we didn’t have to drive to see many sites and lots of choices to eat. Patricia was incredibly helpful and friendly! Highly recommend!

Great place to stay in Nelson. Very central, close to iSite and a short walk to great restaurants, plus also has a good restaurant itself that opens nice and early for breakfast - important if you're catching the Heaphy Bus as I was!

A great Hotel extremely central to the Nelson CBD. I'm local so haven't stayed there but we have enjoyed its fine bar restaurant facility, The Tides many times. Superbly managed with friendly staff. If you're planning a few nights in Nelson why not here.

Lovely hotel which stands on the banks of a shallow river, we were lucky enough to have a room overlooking with doors leading to a terrace with our table & chairs. My husband liked the book exchange situated on the stairs.

It's not a 5 minute walk to the town over the bridge lots of bars & restaurants half way up in a pedestrian area. Also once over the bridge there's a lovely river walk.

Breakfast was busy not a big cooked selection but more than adequate. Do pre book a table for the evening if you eat in the hotel, not a big menu but ok for a couple of nights.

Good value for the money. Nice lixation. Great room and wonderful bathtub.

Awesome staff who genuinely care and are attentive to the guests needs. Food is top notch and prices reasonable for the quality and time taken. Rooms are very clean and tidy. Heated bathroom floor and spa bath a bonus. Free wifi that actually works and hi speed. Location is very central and the river view just stunning. Well run establishment and ill be back. Highly recommend

A good place but watch out you don't get a room close to the restaurant and bar as the late night banter and singing is a bit much if you are trying to sleep.

It's really a nice hotel in Nelson. The most impressive thing is their custom service. We accidentally left our credit card at hotel's counter. Their customer service is very nice and patient, helping us send the credit card back to our country. Trailways Hotel Nelson is a hotel that you can trust.

Great welcome and very caring. We were visiting Nelson for my husband to have treatment on his back. The restaurant was very obliging providing food to our room. Our room was well appointed & very clean.

What a great place to stay. Very neat, clean and tidy. Conveniently located, small walk to local shops, banks, cafes and supermarket. Staff are very friendly and helpful. Definitely would stay here again.

A nice hotel/motel, close to Trafalgar Park. Suitable for business related stays. Their in house restaurant is quite nice though their prices are on the dearer side of the scale.

Rooms are over priced, and house keeping must rush through doing there jobs as i kept a close eye on my rooms floor and noticed every day i returned that stones and grit from the balcony were still sitting in the same place, hair on the bathroom floor was still there and the table had not been wiped clean. Meals from the restaurant are expensive and small. Each meal i had during my 11 day stay were bland and very little taste to them which was disappointing considering the cost. All of the staff were nice which was a bonus. Id only consider staying at TRAILWAYS if you have no other choice but to.
