Nice hotel, very helpful staff and lovely restaurant with great food. The room was a little cramped, but otherwise ok.

Best western Claydon staff have been incredibly helpful and kind when we had to rearrange our afternoon tea at the last minute due to the Orwell bridge closure. They have been amazing and have gone out of their way to help at short notice, and we cannot wait to visit next week. Very disappointed not to have been able to make it today as we have been really looking forward to it. Thank you to the kind staff, and we hope to see you next week.

We came to eat here as part of a group booking. The food was well presented but lamb shanks were undercooked, therefore slightly tough and not falling off the bone, served with a rather small portion of vegetables, à la nouvelle cuisine.
Hotel seems understaffed, as when visiting reception, the receptionist was unavailable as she was helping out in the dining room. Despite ringing bell for service it was ignored because no one was in earshot.

Stayed here as working in area. Hotel was very clean, staff very friendly and helpful. Ample free parking behind hotel. Couple of pubs and shop on same road, fish and chip shop next door. Would have adored it 5* but walls a little thin in rooms and had sound of TV from nearby room to contend with. Would stay again if in Ipswich area

Good hotel in Claydon, amongst pubs and the sweet atmosphere of the countryside. The village is a peaceful place, people talk with each other. The hotel is not expansive and inside everything is stainless e immaculate. Congratulations. People will select the place.

I have spent a week here and i find it very clean, polite decent helpful and competent staff. Decent rooms with en suite. Fantastic, if you are looking for a hotel in the area this can be your only choice if youre looking for quality

Great venue for weddings and birthday parties. All the staff are Very friendly and approachable and will help you as much as possible.

Ok for an over night stay, clean but in need of refurbishment. Staff were friendly and helpful. I was away with business and working nights. Maids were loud in the morning whilst I was trying to sleep despite having a do not disturb sign on the door. No idea what the room rate was as it was booked through work. Good selection of hot & cold breakfast options.

First room had some problems and was extremely small but the staff handled well and moved me to a better, larger room. Food in the restaurant was very nice and the service was good, breakfast was also nice. Overall for a night on business OK but not for a holiday type stay.

Only issue was the shower fitting over the bath, it was very difficult to position and could not get it to stay in preferred position.

Out of all the hotels I Have stayed in over the years this one is my favourite by far.
Staff was very professional and friendly The food was more than excellent. It was Nice to have breakfast cooked for you not just help yourself breakfast with cold egg and Bacon which was cooked some time ago.
Plus Hotel has a electric charger for cars.

I do like a Best Western. This was a pleasant enough experience. Room was okay and well presented. Shame the room I was in I could hear the extractor from the kitchen until it was turned off at about 11pm. Glad I was up at 6 because around then the fan started up again.

Restaurant does good, if slightly overpriced, food and the service was excellent.

Nice clean and comfortable room,the best thing about this hotel is the staff.
They are very friendly and nothing is too much trouble for them and they make you feel so welcome.
Food was fantastic too.
I have been here for 5 nights while I was down here on a weeks training course with work and will ask to come here again next time.

Went for the Christmas party & stayed over. Evening food was good, disco OK. Had good company do had a good night. Breakfast very good. Our room was fine

Hotel looks promising and was clean etc. Room adequate for a 'de luxe' paid for this to get wi fi to then find its free everywhere?? However signal is poor. Staff pleasant but service very slow at dinner. Booked for 7.15 finally got our main course at 8.30. Trio of Melon turned out to be a duo and couldn't find any melting brie on the chicken. Bathroom small ok but definitely needed a wall handle for getting in and out of shower over bath. Breakfast ok plenty of parking.

Hotel fine, and the food and service top notch. Only problem for me was the noise from other rooms. I could hear people's conversations at normal volume. I could hear them going to the toilet, watching TV, everything. Didn't really get good sleep. Shame really as i really liked the place but for that. But it loses a couple of stars from me for thin walls

Fantastic location, tonnes of parking, dinner options on site and across the road in a friendly pub. And the WiFi actually works a treat! Which can't be said of most hotels.

This is my all time favourite resturant ,The staff are exceptional ,friendly and helpful with a warm greeting .
The chef is out of this world ,I have never had a bad or dissapointing meal here .Frankie the top chef has been there for years always smiling ,hes fantastic .
I have been here numerous times for meals ,for 2 or more .
My twins had a 30th birthday meal, here my dads 90th ,my sister held her wedding here ,and we had a wake here for a relative .
There is only one place locally to be on parr with this and that is Hintlesham Hall ,if you want to pay the price ,just for the pleasure of driveing up the drive and its grand entrance .
The meals at CLaydon Country House ,the venue ,and the value for money with exceptional sevice cannot be faulted !!!!! WELL DONE !! to you all

Hotel was pleasant and generally clean and staff friendly. Breakfast was v.good, only complaint was the noisey floor so we could hear guests thumping past incredibly loudly!

Hotel was good but basic.
The window was open slightly when we arrived so the room was really cold. The bathroom window had a draught and was not double glazed like the room window so it was freezing cold and the heating only really starts up at 6 which is when I woke up so by the time the bathroom heated up I was checking out.
Hotel is old but has a lot of character. There were a few creaky floorboards however after about 11 most guests were asleep and it was quite quiet.
Staff were friendly and polite.

My sons wedding was held here, and we cannot rate this hotel highly enough. From making the arrangements with Heather, to the actual wedding and then the evening. All of the staff were extremely helpful, the food was fantastic, the rooms were lovely. Plenty of room, and everyones tastes and request was met. Nothing was too much trouble. If your thinking of staying here, or having a wedding, this is the place to go. Good value for money. Thank you Claydon for a special ocassion.
