Modern, clean, comfortable, great location to enjoy the Netherlands countryside and castle! Great pool and sauna. Quick service at the front desk. Overall a extremely comfortable experience.

This hotel fits the Van der Valk standards which means spacious rooms, proper breakfast and food and nice staff.

I cannot think of any real downsides to this hotel. Although the large setting with the big restaurant is not really my cup of tea.

Very nice hotel. We had a spacious room, unexpectedly nice view and just fabulous breakfast with lots of options. Location is quite far from the city centre though, but it's not a problem if you are traveling by car. We stayed there when visiting Snowworld and location of the hotel is quite close to it (around 10 minutes drive).

Amazing hotel with friendly staff, efficient check in/ out, great restaurant and large free parking. Rooms are spacious and well specced, would go back again any day.

The first day we came, we have noticed that it was not the most clean room, but it was okay. It was later in the day so we had dinner at Happy Italy about 5km further. After we had dinner, we decided to take a swim. The swimming pool was good, clean warm water nothing much to tell about.

The second day we had breakfast, which was good, you had choice amongst many breakfast items. During breakfast we decided to dine at the hotel. In order to dine we had to make a reservation. After we went to some children stuff like the fairytale forest (which was good) we went back to dine.

Back in the restaurant, they put us on a table which firstly was not made ready (What a warm welcome). As we clearly made a reservation 2 adult 1 child of two years old.

We decided to first eat some soup, we took 2 chicken soups and a Onion soup. Two times we asked why the soup is taking so long. In meanwhile we gave our daughter plain bread cause she was hungry. Finally it came, and eventually we waited 45 minutes! for our soups.

In the second order, we ordered some fish, a lamb dish and carpachio. Also this lasted 30+ minutes. Just before I stood up just and wanted to go away to eat somewhere else, the order came. Yay! Eventually it was a nay! They forgot to put the truffel mayonaise on the Carpachio dish, so I sent it back. 20 minutes later my carpachio dish finally came. The outcome of this experience: The child did not eat anything cause of the bread and my wife did also not eat cause the child wouldn't want to sit anymore. I won't blame then child after 2 hours we just had our starters! So I told them, I will only pay for the dishes that I ate. It was the soup, carpachio and two drinks. I asked for the manager, that came also +30 minutes. Now we know where the "too late" thing comes from. Probably the manager is also made in the kitchen....

After explaining the whole thing, as stated above, the manger said to me it is your fault that you gave your child that amount of bread. And the restaurant was very busy. I was furious, I told her, as manager you should know how crowdy it is going to be and prepare yourself. Besides that, it is your problem and not ours. Also the soup I order for her came 45 minutes late! And you are telling me this! Should I starve her? She was half crying of hunger. And then the manager didn't know how to stop! Also telling me, shall I pack everything in so you can eat it at your room... I was like, what? I am done with this restaurant. I am polite right now and just paying for the things I really ate and drank. Finally the manager did go with the things that I asked. After paying, not even an excuse or whatever. Really really rude.

If the van der Valk family reads this, it was the feminine manager in the restaurant on 20th may 2018, 18:00.

Plus point of the day, the room was much more clean now!

3rd final day breakfast, we also made a reservation an cleary asked 1 thing. To be placed closely to the buffet so we can look at our child while getting food. What you say, it was a nope, they did not listen to what we said. Rest of the breakfast was good.

I am the least person who complains about that sort of stuff. But don't get rude, an learn from your mistakes.

The rest of the staying was good, the restaurant needs a bit more senior managers attention.

Quite a nice hotel situated in Heerlen.

The rooms are modernly and quite tastefully decorated. They are also very clean and the bed was very comfortable to sleep in.

The place seems to rather big and busy. This is certainly not a boutique hotel. It has a bar and a restaurant among other facilities. The restaurant was modern and the food quite good. I would say a bit on the expensive side but within normal range for Netherlands. Given the location I would say it was good value for money.

Breakfast was good and there was quite a big diversity of dishes of good quality and presentation.

Overall I enjoyed the hotel and if you happen to have business in that general I would recommended it. For certain I would not spend my holidays there though. :)

Good service, clean and nicely decorated rooms, and good hard beds. Room 317 was quiet and had a nice view. Shower cabin was a bit unpractical, steam and such makes it slippery. The water boiler had some water in it already, and the curtains were a with out.

Een top hotel! Al enkele jaren komen wij terug in dit van der Valk hotel. Bij Hotel Heerlen is de service perfect!
Eind februari hebben wij een hotelkamer geboekt, in dit geval de Penthouse suite. Helaas ondervonden wij wat problemen met de jacuzzi, waarna van der Valk ons een tegemoetkoming heeft aangeboden. Zeer netjes en zeer goed geregeld!
De kamers zijn er netjes, wel zijn er beginnende gebreken waarneembaar en raken de kamers/suites wel al wat verouderd. Onderhoud aan de kamers lijkt te worden vergeten...?
Het nieuwe, onlangs geopende restaurant en cafe is een dikke pluspunt! Het eten is er heerlijk, goed en uitgebreid! Keurige nette en vlotte bediening! Een must!!

Nice hotel, like most Van der Valks.
Dinning/breakfast room is fully renovated. Food offer is quite good.
Very good recovery from it's recent fire.
Looks very classy. Rooms and all common spaces are really spacious. Room price for people that return often are really good (~80eur/night). Always really clean.
Corridors still need some renovation.
Car parking spots are wide, already some offer for electric cars recharge.
Still some inconvenience for handicap people to have access.
Kids 'tolerant'. Staff really helpful.

Had a very tasty lunch while sitting in the circular area. The sun was shining through the amazing cladding and the atmosphere was cosy.

Very decent rooms, staff was friendly. One of the better hotels for sure.

Had a life-cooking dinner here (no a la cart, but pick the food buffet-style and get it made on the spot), with both grill and wok. The food was great. There was plenty of choice in starters, soups, grill, wok and desserts. The service was good as well. Personal was always there to help, without really being in the way. Finally the atmosphere was really nice. Definitely a good place for a high quality dinner.

We visited Van der Valk Hotel because of its breakfast/brunch location. The breakfast was great and served a wide variety of foods (eggs, omelettes, toast, croissants, yoghurts, cereals, etc.) and the food was great. Brand new place and seats were very comfortable.

A really great place to have a family meal for a special occasion, price quality very good , food excellent service needs ttweeking.

Recently renovated hotel. Large rooms, Good beds, huge bathrooms with separate walk-in shower. Reaching your room is a bit of a search, as the hotel seems to be added on over the years. Reasonable food and breakfast.

Ondanks de grote verbouwing na de brand in 2016, is daar binnen niets van te merken. Was dus weer heerlijk een paar daagjes Limburg met V/D Valk comfort.

Beds were perfect. The food at the restaurant was good, except for the fries. Those were terrible and warmed up. But the costumer service was great so I got some new really good fries.

Super fijn hotel. We hadden een grote suite die echt groot en luxe was. Kamer was voorzien van een enorme badkamer met groot bubbelbad. Ontbijt was echt goed en heel erg uitgebreid. Locatie is minder. Namelijk vlak bij het industrieterrein.

Despite the hotel being rebuilt due to a fire some time ago the section that is complete and in use is very comfortable and quiet, even during the day when building work is happening on other areas of the building.
Staff are very helpful, bed comfortable, good fitness/wellness facilities with gym, sauna and pool (albeit small pool). Good breakfast choices.
In house restaurant was good too with reasonable prices.

Bij deze van derValk nemen ze de extra stap om het haar gasten naar 't zin. Voorbeeld: Een taxi duurde 45 minuten. We konden met één van de medewerkers meerijden. Petje af.

Goed hotel met ligging direct aan de snelweg. Zit nu midden in een verbouwing na een brand.

My stay was very enjoyable. The room has a modern feel to it and very open. The beds are comfortable and showers are very nice. The staff is very accommodating as well. The only reason I give it 4 stars is due to the construction going on.

Goed onderhouden hotel met prettige welness mogelijkheden en goed restaurant. Prijs kwaliteit verhouding is prima.

The room was very good, also the staff is kindly. For dinner you can choose from various dishes and you have a salad bar. The only negative is the breakfast. Its not recomended to fill the empty plates in front of the guests. Therefore I was able to see the package from the supermarket. Also the hotel should use a commercial orange juice mashine.

Na dat dit Hotel vorig jaar brand heeft gehad hebben ze dat prima opgevangen met een pop_up restaurant waar alles prima voor elkaar is. Kamers zijn dik in orde. Vriendelijk personeel. Zwembad en fitness zijn hier ook aanwezig.

Big and modern rooms with a nice view. We had a huge bathtub with a jacuzzi function, as well as a big shower. Breakfast was very good, too.

The food was pretty good, and the temporary dining room is very nice. There are not a lot of dishes to choose but it's not a big deal. The service is good although there are a lot of new people working there.

Lovely hotel. Clean, comfortable and great rooms. The bathroom was bigger than most people's houses! Nice staff, can't complain.
