Great Place after refurbishment!

After a recent refurbishment, this place is really attractive:

- big modern rooms
- floor heating in the bathroom
- reception desk directly in the lobby
- extremely friendly staff
- excellent breakfast

The geographic situation is very good, as if is quite close to the inner city, but not too close, so that it is still quiet at night.

Definitely a place to go ...

This hotel has the most amazing breakfast I've ever seen! The reason for 4 stars, not five is because our housekeeper didn't take trash nor clean the floors. My socks were filthy just walking around the room. The hotel had good service, kind staff, bar and restaurant with good food and drinks.

I was there couple of times and it’s worth that price. Even the parking is there. Everything is by couple of steps available. Good food as well. Great hotel.

This is the tiniest hotel room I've ever had, and the bed as well. Could not open any windows or regulate the temperature in any way.

Clean and relatively quiet. Breakfast is varied and appealing. Very close to the city centre.

- We had asked for a nice view and were happy to pay in case it was needed. However, we were advised that this would be organized for us for free. Our view was a wall 2 meters from the window... There was no fridge no wardrobe, no water bottles, no body balm, hair conditioner or toothpaste. Things that you would expect from a 4 Star hotel not only in Norway...

Really nice hotel. I had a single room and it was tiny but well appointed. I also had a really great, large balcony. Good location. Yummy breakfast with a good selection.

Nice rooms and great service. Both times I've been there I've been allowed to check in early which was very helpful when it comes to carrying luggage around. Breakfast is also very good

The front desk/staff were very friendly and helpful! The single room was a bit small, but completely understandable and cozy. Tons of outlets so no worries there. The room and washroom were both very clean each day which is very appreciative after a long day of trekking around Oslo. One thing I found odd, with my room at least, is that there were "two stages" of turning it. On the first stage, it turns as with any ordinary door handle, but then you have to put a bit of effort to turn it further to get the door to actually open. There's a very noticeable "clunck" sound that sounds like you broke the door/handle, but that's just it opening.

Breakfast was great, tons of hot and cold options! The lounge only seats 100 according to their signs, so it might be difficult to find a seat during peak hours. It could have just been that I was there during peak travel season, but they suggested low traffic between 6:30 and 8:30, but there were tons of early risers making it difficult to find a seat for breakfast.

Gym and sauna are in the basement. I unfortunately could not use them in my short stay, but it's plenty furnished. Cold towels are provided to cool off after a good workout/sauna. The sauna is pretty small, however. It seats two max, three if all three are on the smaller side.

There's a coop prix (grocery store) just outside if you're looking to grab a few snacks.

We recently stayed here when visiting Oslo for our honeymoon. We didn't have a car so we were happy that it was only a short walk to the train station (National Theater stop). The room was very clean and nicely decorated. We spent time exploring Oslo by foot including national gallery art museum, vigeland sculpture park, and the opera house just to name a few. Of course I must mention the breakfast included is epic! This was also important to us as were were able to save a little extra money by not eating out every meal as Oslo is rather pricey. They have so many delicious options I had to go back a few times just to try more. My top favorites were the smoked salmon and the fresh cold pressed juices. We stayed at a few Scandics and we really liked that they always offer traditional options for that area. We love trying new things and this allowed us to try some traditional fare and be a bit adventurous. The hotel is also closely located to the grocery store if you want to pick up snack foods to save a little extra. Our pro tip if you want to drink in Oslo and not break the bank is to pick up your beer or wine at the grocery store as it is less than half what you would pay at a bar.

Good breakfast in the morning. Very small room and barely any air conditioning. Good room overall and there was a supermarket by hotel.

Very nice hotel, freindly stuff, the breakfast ooh boy has so many choices. The bed was on a small side but it was very comfortable and the room itself was big.
The Hotel location is great just a walking distance to most things including the Castle and waterfront restaurant. I'll stay here any day!

Great place to stay, situated on a quiet street near the centre of Oslo. Breakfast incl. which was nice. Nothing to complain about except the temperature in the room. At night it got really cold all the sudden for some reason. Otherwise service and everything else; superb 😊

its a bit out of the city center, however olso has a small center so everything is walkable the rooms are pretty roomy and rather modern, nice breakfast, with alot of choice solid choice for going to oslo

The room is standard. Good use of little space with a fold out table. Nice to see the TV has a HDMI and usb extension on the front to allow personal devices, chromecasts and that to be attached easily. All was clean and minimalistic.

However very poor sound proofing. Did have to sort a refund for our first night as noise from neighbours of the hotel. At a point where the music was vibrating the bed.
Nothing the staff could do but have us deal with it. Had been told this had been a problem for guests in the past
Also found the phone didn't woke in the room and told many phones throughout the hotel don't work.

Breakfast had a very good selection. Some great choices and all delicious. The system is a bit too chaotic (especially on the Sunday) and could do with some form of organisation such as having someone seat people.

Location is great for exploring the city centre.

Yes, they deserve to be awarded for best breakfast. Broad varieties with a gluten-free corner, even with dedicated toaster for gluten-free bread. How considerate they are!?
Room is very small, with a beautiful decoration.
Location is around 10 mins walk from the shopping street and 15-20 mins walk from Central Train Station.

If all that matters to you is a good breakfast, this place is the best for you. However staying in Scandic is mostly sleeping in a small room, with uncomfortable and beds cramped between the wall and the windows, which are locked, strange lighting system and an unusable desk. The room design is awful, access to the bed is only from one side, there is no place for a wardrobe, so we've got a pole and some hangers above a cushioned bench. On the plus side the bathroom is nice and comfortable, and we had an iron and board, also the staff is helpful and kind.
Very unusual feeling checking out of this hotel, lots of pluses but too many minuses. Can't recommend.

Standard hotel with fair rates and nice rooms. You get what you pay for. Good breakfast.

Doesn't look much from the outside, but once you get inside it's a nice surprise. Amazing theatre (great for conferences /awards shows) , cosy restaurant , great bar - works well for parties. Bar staff could smile a little more:-) otherwise very professional.

We only stopped here for breakfast. There are plenty of tasty options on the buffet. Scrambled eggs where slightly above average hotel quality as well as the bacon. It wasn't as crisp as I like it, but they at least went into the right direction - compared to a lot of other places who seem to server only slightly heated bacon. The have a selection of freshly sliced fruits which is nice. The salmon was highly praised by one of my friends.

Staff were very friendly and helpful. We were upgraded because it was our anniversary, which was a nice touch. Breakfast was excellent. Large selection and tasty. Recommend filling up on breakfast then you don't have to pay for lunch or you have a small one. Down sides were, bed was too soft for me (other people might like it) and there didn't seem to be any air conditioning or it didn't work. But on the whole it's in a good location, walking distance from most of the sites and station and we had a good stay so would definitely recommend it.

Nice and cozy rooms, friendly staff. Expensive parking area, but as usual in norway. Just one unopenable Window towards the patio is in my opinion not the best but therefore quite.

Good looking hotel but if you want a freezing room you got it. They have a central system to cool the entire hotel and they can't adjust it. They will give you a portable heater who doesn't change anything. So finally really disappointed

Not the biggest accommodation, room clean, odd choice of wall paper. Visited three Scandic hotels from Finland to Norway, all breakfast buffet good, didn't have much time to try the other facilities. Overall happy with all hotels.

Great little hotel. The rooms are very small by American standards but this is normal for Norway and they are very nice anyway. The complimentary breakfast blows any American hotel breakfast out of the water though. Definitely would stay here again.

Even though the room I was in was a bit small and the bed a little to soft for my taste, the overall quality of the hotel was good, the staff was really kind and helpful and the breakfast has been one of the best I ever had in an hotel of this range. Plus the hotel is in a nice location, a lot of rooms have terrace and is at walking distance from the city center. I would definitely recommend it!

The hotel it located an easy walk from a lot of things worth doing. Our room was very small and a bit cramped, but otherwise comfortable. The breakfast spread was fantastic.

This hotel was pretty good overall, location is decent, quality of rooms and breakfast is quite good for Scandic. However, the windows in my room lead to the lobby and there was a party with a lot of music and bass until 11:30 PM the day I was staying over. I don't mind, but I bet others would. I'd say overall this wouldn't be a hotel for elderly, but quite fun for young people :)

First of all, the location of this hotel is perfect. Very close to everything, but still quiet enough. The rooms are large and bathrooms are very nice. Staff is friendly and really helpful. Oh, and the WiFi is fast as well!

Booked a superior room, but was disappointed by the room. The room was also a little noisy due to balconies below. Had asked for a high floor on my booking and slightly regretted not asking for a quiet room instead. Also instead of a double bed it was two single beds pushed together. The breakfast was good and staff were friendly. Due to my problems they offered me an upgrade on my next stay.

Really great breakfast spread, clean and efficient room. Very central location, and very helpful staff. The staff spent plenty of time helping us plan our day trips in Oslo. (Best breakfast of all the Norwegian hotels we stayed at.)

Stayed here during pride. Great place to stay! A little bit expensive though

Central, clean and modern! The sixth floor room was small, pleasant and quiet with a large, sunny balcony. The minibar had essentials, and also room for your own drinks. There was an ironing board, hair dryer, and most impressively, a TV with clearly exposed HDMI and USB ports.

If you didn't bring one, the reception provided HDMI cables for laptops, tablets and cell phones to let you play movies or music from your own device on the room's TV. The USB port could also be used to charge devices, and was powered even when the TV and main switch was off (i.e. when leaving the room).

The free WiFi was very reliable, unfiltered and provided 5 Mbps per device -- enough to stream HD video. The connection was activated for about 12 hours at a time, and could then be reactivated with a single click.

The complimentary breakfast buffet had both the English breakfast and typically Norwegian food: muesli, bread and a good selection of spreads, cheese and cold cuts. The buffet had some vegetarian and vegan options, and provided gluten and lactose free products.

The hotel is located as centrally as it gets, a two minute walk from Nationaltheatret station, serviced by busses and trams, all subway lines, and even the airport express train. The national gallery and the royal castle are less than five minutes away, and you pass many bars and restaurants on the way there.

The rates are probably hefty most of the year (that's Norway for you), but the summer rate was not just reasonable but cheap. I expected to pay literally twice as much.

It was easily the best stay I've ever had in Norway.

Down Town no need to take taxi for everywhere. Very small room 525 but it is OK with single bed. 538 room big and good. The Breakfast is good.
