Environment

Property's Green Action

We have operational procedures in place to reduce the consumption of energy, water and the generation of waste in our business every day.

Certifications

Green Key Eco-Rating Program 4

With more than 1,200 hotels certified in Canada since its inception in the 1990s, the Green Key Eco-Rating Program awards hotels an environmental rating of one to five Green Keys. Green Key members are then given guidance on how to "unlock" opportunities to reduce operating costs and environmental impacts - and in turn earn more keys.

The Green Key audit looks at nine major areas of sustainable hotel operations:
• Energy conservation
• Water conservation
• Solid waste management
• Hazardous waste management
• Indoor air quality
• Community outreach
• Building infrastructure
• Land use
• Environmental management

The Green Key

Green Key is an eco-label awarded to around 3,200 hotels and other sites in more than 65 countries worldwide. Achieving the Green Key award requires compliance with a range of criteria, including:

• Comply with legislation and CSR policy within the areas of environment, health, safety, and labor
• Prepare an environmental/sustainability policy and action plan
• Train staff on environmental/sustainability issues
• Display information about Green Key and other environmental/sustainability initiatives
• Display information about local transportation and nearby parks/conservation areas
• Implement water-saving initiatives in guest rooms, e.g. flow restrictors in taps and showers, smart watering initiatives of the garden, etc.
• Install program for the reuse of towels and/or sheets in guest rooms
• Separate waste and implementation of waste saving initiatives (including food waste)
• Avoid the use of chemical cleaning products with dangerous compounds
• Safe storage of chemical products
• Stationary and paper are environmentally friendly produced
• Implement energy-saving initiatives in guest rooms, e.g. energy-efficient light bulbs, standard-defined heating/cooling temperature, etc.
• Purchase of food/beverage products that are organic, eco-labeled, fair-trade labeled, and/or locally produced
• Avoid chemical pesticides and fertilizers in green areas
• Staff areas fulfill the same requirements as guests and public areas
• Encourage cooperation with suppliers and local community on environmental/sustainability matters

Nice hotel with big confrence rooms. On site restaurant is decent . I love wood fire pizzas from the restaurant. Rooms are ok with comfortable beds. Swimming pool is little bit small but gym is decent. Catered food was the highlight of this restaurant. Underground parking is the best features of this hotel especially during the winters { small fee}. River View from the room is amazing. The hotel is away from core downtown but is at walking distance from all the major down town attractions, restaurants/ pubs, and a movie theater complex. Decent place for Saskatoon stay.

Very clean! Great staff! Within walking distance of many things .
We had a gorgeous view of the bridges and water.
Beds are hard and the coffee isnt great in the room. Slept on the hideaway the next night so a little better.
The restaurant has great food and great service.

Great hotel! I had a beautiful room with an amazing view. Fitness centre was adequate though the TV in there is too dark and can't seem to be made brighter. Food for our conference was amazing, decent vegetarian options including a lunch with a vegetarian protein which is rare.

The hotel is in a great downtown location. Right next to the river and walking distance to all amenities. There is a mall within reach as well as a cinema and countless restaurants. The hotel has a great pizza at aroma restaurant located in the lobby. They also have a large pool and water slide (with hot tub) which makes the stay great if you're bringing your kids with you.

Great views around entire hotel. Pool is fun for the whole family, even if you don't want to swim. The weight room is fantastic for a quick work out if needed. The restaurant is amazing. Steak was perfect! Rooms are a decent size, clean, and the staff were eager to help any way they could. You are walking distance to downtown, Broadway, theatres, and the world renowned Remai Art gallery. Be sure take in the beautiful South Saskatchewan River during your stay.

Great hotel for families. We (family of 5) stayed here and the hotel was very accommodating. The hotel provided "kids eat free" coupons for the restaurant, and happily rolled a cot up to the room at no charge. There is underground parking. Best of all, there is a great fitness center and a pool with waterside and hot tub to tie the kids out or relax the muscles of tired parents.

Overall, a fine experience. Was there for a conference. The conference facilities were great. Food was above average (I've eaten at a lot of hotel restaurants). Room was small but comfortable. Service was friendly across the board. Didn't use any other facilities.

I really like staying at this hotel. I'm attending a conference here and the rooms are always really nice and the food is also really good. Their desserts are some of the best I've ever had at a conference. The rooms are a decent size for being downtown and you can end up with her really nice view of the bridges and river.

Nice, quiet space, low light atmosphere. Some view from the Easternmost seating. Good range from Casual to upscale. Good service, good food, responsive staff. Good gluten free options. "Our kitchen is your kitchen" attitude makes it easy for everyone to get something they like. Parking is not great.

At Radisson for a wedding. Very nice surroundings and modern furnishings, beautiful location and view. Underground parking really appreciated, especially in the heart of downtown and less than a block from the river. Food was delicious at the wedding and reception; only downside is that the coffee served at the event wasn't very good, pleasant serving staff. Staff were helpful and friendly. Got to tour the Riverbend Room, very nice and clean. 10/10 would recommend

A good experience from check in to check out. Staff were friendly and informative, and the room was nice and cozy. Underground parking (although it had a 15 dollar charge) was exceptional for december in Saskatoon, some of the other hotels downtown have some real lackluster parking (looking at you Sheraton).

The room view was awesome we had a corner room with a view of both sides of the river.

A very enjoyable stay!

I wasn't to happy with the front desk attitude when I brought up an issue that happened with me. They shifted the blame on another department without taking responsibility for the inconvenience. Usually they are good. I am not sure what went wrong. Anyway it was a bad experience. Let's see next week looking forward for a better experience.

The room was very clean and prepared. I was immediately greeted by one of the cleaning ladies when I reached my floor, and the women at the reception were very helpful. When I came back to my room after spending a day at a conference, I found that an extra small towel was placed under a bag of my toiletries, and that the items I did have out - deodorant, hair wax, comb, and toothpaste - were arranged nicely with my bag. The room looked just as I'd left it, but that much more clean and organized. The bathroom looks modern, the bed and pillows are very comfy, and the room itself was fairly big. Plus you could see the river from the room, which was great. I would definitely stay here again!

We were merely there to investigate options for our wedding. Dawn was helpful, informative, and friendly. From the looks of it, their wedding packages are phenomenal as well!

The hotel is in a good location near the river as well as several bars and restaurants. The staff are friendly. The rooms and hallway could use a bit of updating and are also on the small side. The corner rooms are an odd shape too so the furniture doesn't quite fit them. It makes getting around the room a little cumbersome. The side rooms are better. Pool area was fun and has a large waterslide but the only way to get down to the pool is a slow elevator which gets wet and grimy fairly quick...could definitely use some stairs. The hotel bar has good food and friendly staff.

Great rooms with plenty of supplies and linens, fun waterslide with long hours to enjoy and great location with free parking with the room. Unfortunately the bill was slid under the door at dawn and woke the dog up to go for a walk. Suggestion: have a list of pet rooms and give the bill at more accommodating hours.

Staff was great, room was nice, but heater in the room was broken and we had to switch rooms. Took a while to get us moved but wasn't terrible. We ate dinner at the restaurant (Aroma Resto Bar) and it was disappointing. For the amount we paid we could have got a far better meal down the street at Ayden. The drink selection was lacking and they were out of stock on a few different liquors on a Saturday night, which is crazy. Also the kitchen closes at 11 so don't expect a late night snack here.

We were there for a hockey tournament and had a block of rooms for our team. The rooms were all perfectly neat, we had a hospitality suite for our use, heated underground parking, and buffet breakfast prepared according to the ream's schedule. The service was perfect. My only concern was the pillows. Overly big and I woke up with a sore neck and head ache.

Stayed at the Radisson in Saskatoon. The room was clean and furnished nicely. The service was good. We ordered breakfast room service which was delicious. My biggest complaint was the price of the coffee. We order two cups of coffee and it was $9.00, which is insane! It probably costs them 40 cents to make a pot. The pool is small but the 14 person hot tub was nice. The slide was fun but looks like it has seen better days!

There was used tissue lieing behind one of the armchairs. Looked under the beds, and house keeping obviously hadn't cleaned there for a while. Saw a battery, bottle caps, and other junk. For a 3 star hotel, I'd expect the cleaning to be a bit better. The shower fixture in the bathroom was really loose. Other than that the beds were comfortable, and the location to downtown restaurants and bars is great.

I stayed here for two nights during a professional conference. I was put on the eighth floor.

While my experience was actually very pleasant, my room very clean, not everyone in my group had such good luck. For instance someone in the room next door had to have all their linen replaced when they found dried blood in their bed. Another discovered evidence of bed bugs on the ninth floor. However I did not see either of these problems myself so cannot fully vouch for these issues, though I have very little reason to doubt them.

I would likely stay here again. Although I would strongly advise avoiding the hotel restaurant named "Aroma", but that's another review.

Husband and I splurged on an expensive downtown hotel as a special treat. The service was fantastic. I couldn't ask for better there. I just really expected the room to be a little less "utilitarian" for the price.
The bathroom was rather dingy too. Not disgusting, but there was grime along the baseboards and in the corners and the shower floor and walls could use a few extra shots of tilex.
The room came with the usual blow drier, coffee pot and iron, as well as a microwave and fridge, which was handy.
The pool was nice, although we had to ask where to find it.
I probably won't stay again, but only because I can't justify spending that kind of money on a very basic room. It felt like we were paying for the pretty lobby and elevator.

Not exactly the fanciest esthetically, but a very nice hotel. The water slide is super great for families, and rooms are very well kept. We ended up upgrading out room for only 5 dollars a night and ended up with a riverside view. We could not have asked for a better view. We got a great view of both the sunrise and sunset, and you look right down on the south Saskatoon river and Kiwanis Park. The hotel itself is right downtown and you can easily walk through both sides of the city. The midtown mall is only 8 minutes away offering a lot of unexpected convince. A great choice for your stay, long or short!

Stayed for two nights over the long weekend. Had requested a high room with a river view which they accommodated so that was very nice. Room was a bit small but very clean and well appointed. Common areas were also very clean. Bed was a bit soft for my own liking but it did the trick. Overall very happy and would stay again.

I really liked my stay at the Radisson Hotel!

From check-in I was pleasantly surprised by the cleanliness and friendliness of staff.

My room was a good size and it was nice to have a couch to sit on to review notes for my conference.

The conference staff (food, etc.) We're really, really awesome! They were always striving to please you and tended to any request quickly and efficiently.

I would recommend the conference centre staff and the hotel to any person who is looking for a comfortable stay.

Food/room service was good. Pretty underwhelming for the price, though. Considering the price of rooms, parking was also expensive - so just add an extra $20 bucks a night to the room fee and ask yourself if you still want to stay. I thought I'd gotten at least one step up from a basic room but we still didn't even have a mini fridge. We were riverside so the view was great. Couch in the room was comfy and clean. Pillows were nice, but the bed was too soft and gave me problems after the first night.

I'd rather stay at a hotel with free breakfast for this price... it was just nothing special.

My boyfriend and I signed up for the Winter Getaway Package for Valentine's Day which includes 1 room with a King Size Bed, complimentary indoor parking and a $30 gift certificate to Aroma Resto Bar. We arrived at the hotel and it was quite packed, most likely due to the long weekend and when I had asked about the complimentary INDOOR parking, they said the underground was full and we could park across the street in the free parking lot which was not indoor. I had also been told that the $30 for the restaurant would just come off of the bill for the room, and needless to say when we looked at the bill the next morning, the $30 was NOT taken off our bill. I feel that the $30 discount for the restaurant was more of a hassle than it needed to be. We had also filled out the room service sign for breakfast the next morning, and we had indicated we wanted it to arrive at 9AM that next morning. The breakfast room service we had ordered never came so we checked-out and went to Cora's instead. I will say that the staff was very nice people, and we did enjoy ourselves at the restaurant, but the package we had paid for, and the services that were supposed to be offered were not satisfactory. The room we had stayed in was very cozy, but the TV was grainy with very few channels offered. I doubt we will be visiting again.

My wife and I had prebooked and pre-payed by a month for a room with two beds (queen or double). We were told at check-in that all they had was a queen and a pull out. Ever slept on a pull out? Neither did I.
The reservation surprise wasn't enough, I was also stood up for a $15/night parking fee. This also had not previously been mentioned.
Apparently the reservations are managed by an American call centre so our rates were charged in US dollars.
We were especially annoyed by the "take it or leave it" front desk attitude. For a month's pre-booked AND prepaid they couldn't straighten out this debacle until we got there?
Radisson? Never again.
